I thought it would be best to have a special page of cakes that might not be considered cake or might satisfy a craving a layer cake wouldn’t. Like brownies. Or cheesecake. Or lemon bars. Or whatever dessert that takes the cake!!
So,this page will simply be an exaggeration of the term: cake.
I’ll share with you some more cake ideas… and links to more cakes. I’ll show you some photos of cakes in process and this is where I’ll post photos of cake’s good days and cake’s bad days.
I’ve learned that there are cake cook’s good days and cake cook’s bad days… but I’ve found that the secret to turning a bad cake day into a good cake day is simply this: more frosting.
This wedding cake had fondant covering the buttercream frosting. And I had totally botched the fondant as I attempted to lift it onto and smooth it over the cake. What to do, what to do?? Pull it off — that I knew, but would it be salvageable? Yes. Most everything is —— with a little more frosting. That’s how lots of thing are in life. Think of frosting as love. Love covers a multitude of sins.
